The organization and educational institution cannot ignore the fact that the marketplace has changed and is consistently changing. We consistently evolve and improve upon everything that has an impact on the way we live and work. The speed at which we experience change and improvement has dramatically increased due to the emergence of artificial intelligence.

We share 5 thought starters for you to use as a basis for your thought process about how best to approach your pursuit of success regardless of whether you are an individual, small business, or organization.

  1. Research and study is important. The words, “I think, I believe, In my opinion, I assumed,” and similar phrases, reflect the thought process of one person. When we take the time to research our endeavor, we add value to our personal thoughts because we acknowledge that we have invested time in the study of the topic. Good articles on practically any subject that we can think of are available. They are as close as a quick digital search via one of the many search engines that are easily accessible.
  2. Develop insights/Determine what matters most to your endeavor. When we take the time to read and study what others are doing in similar situations, we develop insights that are applicable to what we are focused on in our personal pursuit of success as an outcome. This is as true for the individual as it is for the company or organization. Great ideas are not always new ideas. Good ideas can be applicable to a multitude of situations. Good ideas are transferable. Most important is the discovery of what may be applicable to you and your endeavor.
  3. Clarity of purpose is essential! When the audience clearly understands our purpose, they engage and engage effectively. This is true of personal effort, team effort, business, and organization efforts. Clarity of purpose requires that we are repetitive. When the audience is growing, the new people need to understand the same thing that those who preceded them understand. Effective communication clearly reminds the audience of the purpose. Communication is only effective when it is consistent.
  4. Clear Communication of what matters most to the audience determines your effectiveness in executing and achieving growth objectives. I tend to harbor on the importance of communication because, I have found and consequently believe, effective communication is the least costly investment with the greatest return on investment possibility in the plans and objectives of small to large organizations and businesses however, most do not do it well! In order to serve people well, you have to communicate with them. The audience will not clearly understand your purpose or the value to them via osmosis… you have to communicate with the audience.
  5. Measure your effectiveness consistently/Stay focused on serving others extraordinarily. This is not a big thought; it is simply a very important thought. Measure your effectiveness, not only your results. Your results are the result of your effectiveness as perceived by the audience you are attempting to attract. Your results are not magical when you are doing good and troubling when you are not doing good. Your results are always directly related to your effectiveness!

Key Insight: Celebrate your progress toward your objectives and avoid attempting to rationalize any lack of success. Seasons will always change and there will always be the unexpected. The marketplace of potential buyers and subscribers to what you offer is not a marketplace of any guarantee. It is a marketplace of opportunity and possibilities and the degree to which you succeed in attracting market share appears to lie in how effective you are in serving the audience. Your ongoing objective is to simply be relevant to your audience to the extent they want to keep the relationship. Keep a sense of urgency in your approach to everything that you do. Remember, the customer or member is consistently evaluating whether to keep the relationship or not. You are not affordable if you are not relevant.
