There are only a few more months until the holiday season. Hopefully you have already begun preparing for this holiday rush but if not that’s okay. I’ll breakdown some ways you can prepare so that operations run as smoothly as possible during this time.

Planning is crucial during this time so begin by getting yourself organized. Hold a team meeting to brainstorm new ideas that may help during this time. Listen to any advice or input they may contribute. Sometimes they can see things from a different angle. Come up with a budget that will work for you so you are aware of what additional expenses you will incur. Be prepared to shell out additional money in preparation for the holidays. If you aren’t familiar with what last year’s sales were like be sure to look back at it. This will help you get a sense of what products might be in high demand again this year. Your inventory should then be well stocked. This is extremely important to do. Otherwise, you run the risk of losing out on potential profits. Contact your suppliers and inquire about the shipping time frames they will use during the holiday season. Consider what your business will use as well. That way you won’t find yourself with unhappy customers who didn’t receive their orders on time. One final note, make sure you are adequately staffed for the months leading up to the holiday. More than likely things will get a bit hectic, and staff will find themselves busier than ever so you may need to hire some temporary or seasonal workers to help out.
