High-performing entrepreneurs are beginning to treat energy, focus and recovery as systems that can be improved rather than fixed personality traits. Instead of depending only on motivation, discipline or longer working hours, some founders are turning to science-based wellness practices designed to support their physical and mental performance.

Entrepreneurs face unusually high levels of stress and burnout. Many continue meeting deadlines and producing results while quietly dealing with exhaustion, emotional numbness and reduced mental sharpness. This condition is sometimes described as “shadow burnout.”

The real challenge is not always a lack of ambition or poor time management. In many cases, the body simply does not have enough energy to maintain such a demanding pace.

One approach gaining attention is the Superhuman Protocol, created by Jason Tebeau of Da Vinci Medical. It combines three therapies intended to improve circulation, oxygen delivery, cellular energy and recovery. The complete routine can typically be performed in about 15 to 20 minutes.

1. PEMF Therapy Supports Circulation

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, commonly called PEMF, uses low-frequency electromagnetic pulses to encourage circulation and cellular activity.

Research suggests that PEMF may improve blood flow, tissue oxygenation and the delivery of nutrients throughout the body. Some studies have also found that it may increase microvascular circulation and support oxygen delivery to the brain.

For entrepreneurs, improved circulation may help the brain receive the oxygen and nutrients it needs before demanding meetings, difficult conversations and important decisions.

2. Exercise With Oxygen Therapy Increases Oxygen Delivery

Exercise with oxygen therapy, or EWOT, combines light physical movement with concentrated oxygen. While normal air contains about 21% oxygen, EWOT systems may provide oxygen concentrations between 90% and 95%.

Studies suggest that this therapy may support cardiovascular efficiency, energy production and oxygen levels in the body. Some participants have shown improvements in resting oxygen pressure that continued even after the treatments ended.

Oxygen delivery is especially important for mental performance. Although the brain represents only a small percentage of the body’s total weight, it consumes a significant amount of the oxygen a person takes in.

When circulation or oxygen delivery is limited, brain fog and mental fatigue may appear. Entrepreneurs who spend their days solving problems, planning strategies and making decisions depend heavily on consistent oxygen delivery to the brain.

3. Red and Near-Infrared Light Support Cellular Energy

Red and near-infrared light therapy focuses on the mitochondria, which are responsible for creating the energy cells need to function.

Research suggests that certain wavelengths of light may stimulate mitochondrial activity and increase the production of ATP, the body’s main source of cellular energy. Improved ATP production may support mental clarity, recovery and sustained focus.

The idea is simple: entrepreneurs who recover more effectively may be able to perform at a higher level for a longer period of time.

Combining the Three Therapies

The main feature of the Superhuman Protocol is the combination of PEMF, oxygen therapy and red-light therapy in one routine.

The order of the treatments may vary depending on the equipment being used. Some people begin with oxygen-supported exercise before moving into PEMF and red-light therapy.

Consistency is considered more important than the exact sequence. A daily 15- to 20-minute routine may help create a more dependable physical and mental baseline.

People who follow structured morning wellness routines often report fewer energy crashes, less dependence on caffeine and more consistent focus throughout the day. By supporting circulation, oxygen delivery and cellular energy, these practices may give the brain and body more resources to handle demanding schedules.

Viewing Performance as a Business Investment

There may also be a financial reason for entrepreneurs to consider performance and recovery equipment. Certain qualifying business equipment may be eligible for tax deductions under Section 179 of the U.S. tax code.

Business owners considering these purchases should speak with a qualified tax professional to determine whether the equipment meets the necessary requirements.

As more founders experience burnout while continuing to meet their performance goals, the greatest competitive advantage may not be working harder. It may be creating a healthier body and sharper mind that can handle pressure, recover efficiently and perform consistently over time.
