In the realm of business, distinguishing between bad behavior and inherent badness is crucial. We all navigate moments where our actions might not align with our true character. It’s a journey of aligning our value system with who we aspire to be. At a recent event, I asked a crowd about what they care for – their families, health, business, clients. Everyone’s hand shot up. But here’s the catch: caring and committing are worlds apart.

Real success in business isn’t about being the loudest in the room or the one always pitching. It’s about positioning and how you present yourself. I’ve moved away from pitching on stage, focusing instead on sharing the genuine benefits of what I offer. This approach has not only brought me more success but also aligns better with my ethos – not to be offensive or forceful, but to be authentic and valuable.

Consider this: True generosity in business isn’t about expecting something in return. I’ve contributed significantly to people without any expectation, simply because they’re doing good in the world. That’s the essence of ethical business – contributing without leveraging it for personal gain or recognition.

Lastly, personal reflection is key. We often need to confront ourselves, recognizing moments where we might be driving people away. It’s about being the person you’d eagerly answer a call from, not the one people dread. Ask yourself, how do others perceive your approach? Are you genuinely adding value, or just seeking to take?.

Remember, in business, as in life, it’s your ethics and character that define your true success.
