As you scale your business, you’ll need the right team by your side. We’ve talked a lot about employee acquisition, but one key component in finding quality employees is offering good employee benefits. When considering what benefits to include in your staff’s package, you first need to understand the values you want your employees to encompass. Benefits that are tailored to the values of your staff indicate to potential team members that you’re willing to accommodate their needs.

Work-Life Balance?

Many companies recognize that a healthy work-life balance is essential to maintaining quality employees. Flexible scheduling and a healthy amount of paid time off can accommodate this need. For instance, DropBox offers unlimited time off, which has sent its staff’s satisfaction ratings through the roof. Some companies even provide “digital downtime” where breaks, such as lunch breaks, are free of any corporate digital communication.

Family First?

If family is a high priority for your employees, then employee assistance program can go a long way. These can be used for childcare programs, counseling services, or paid maternal and paternal leave. Estee Lauder offers 20 weeks of paid parental leave for their expecting staff members.

If you feel you need more direction, look internally and think about what would attract you towards a job. If you’re an AFEUSA member, be sure to talk to other entrepreneurs on our message boards for more ideas.
