As the world keeps evolving, our role as Entrepreneurs is simple: We have to use our businesses and talents to expand humanity, not contract it.

As simple as it sounds, it can be hard to do. A major part of it depends on becoming valuable to other people and to the world, which isn’t about being the smartest person in every room. Instead, to become valuable to other people, we have to add value to other people — and we can do that in countless ways.

To make this a daily habit, prime yourself in the morning to have a day full of meaningful interactions and moments — and a Miracle Morning® routine is perfect for that purpose! As you go through your day, remember you can add value to everyone you encounter, even if it’s just a friendly “hello” or an offer to help.

These moments add up and help you build energy. They are practice for when the big opportunity comes, the one that helps you make the biggest impact possible with your Unique Ability®.

When we struggle to give others value, it’s often because we’re too caught up in our own problems, even when they’re not that serious. If your life is mostly in order, the best way to fix this is to address someone else’s problem. Like magic, doing this helps you get out of your head while doing a selfless act for someone else. (On its own, this is another way of adding value!)

As much as being valuable is about creating ripple effects of positivity, it’s also about not leaving a trail of scorched earth in your wake. When things go wrong, don’t be petty or vengeful; learn from them and move on. Use the experience to look for new opportunities to leave people and places better than you found them.

Finally, practice being brave enough to “go first” in new connections with others — by demonstrating the kindness, openness and honesty you want to receive. Embracing this in daily life will transform your relationships and your business. I know, because it transformed mine!
