When you’re playing not to lose versus playing to win – you operate completely differently in the world. When you’re playing to win, and you’re surrounded by people playing not to lose, it can be difficult.You can try and encourage and inspire others, but changing someone with a scarcity mindset into having an abundance mindset is tough to do.
At the end of the day, you can’t turn a duck into an eagle. You want to identify eagles in your life while not driving yourself crazy trying to put ducks under water expecting them to swim like a fish… or take a fish out of water and expect it to run like a gazelle.
People have to operate where they can operate. If there’s no room for them to operate and excel, they will drive themselves (and everyone else) nuts.
When you’re an Entrepreneur trying to make things happen in the world, the right people will hear what you’re saying and see what you’re doing and want to help.
Your mode of Entrepreneurial operation may cause people on your team to feel like they aren’t appreciated enough or “seen”… but, when you’re running one hundreds miles a minute trying to transform people’s lives, the right people will step up to make things happen WITH you.
The right ones will “get it”. If the way you operate doesn’t resonate with a team member, they might be the wrong team member. Again, the right people will love your mission and what you’re up to – but, recognize, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
