The call to step into something new often begins as a quiet knowing. A restlessness. A tug at the edges of our current reality that says, something’s not quite right anymore. For some of us, it shows up as boredom in work that once felt exciting, or a disconnection from the version of ourselves who dreamed this life into being. We look around and realize—we’ve made it… and yet we feel the ache of misalignment. That was true for me. I had finally arrived at the role I’d worked so long for—at an institution I respected, with a salary I appreciated. But something inside had shifted. The vision I was living belonged to a past version of me. And that version had grown. The next steps didn’t come as a lightning bolt. They came slowly—through reflection, small actions, and a growing trust in the path ahead. There were real barriers: financial, cultural, and internal. But the loudest were often the quietest—limiting beliefs I didn’t know were shaping my choices. If any of these resonate, you might be standing at the threshold:
  • “I should feel more grateful—but something feels off.”
  • “I’ve outgrown the version of success I once worked toward.”
  • “I’m daydreaming about a different rhythm or way of working.”
  • “I’ve stopped feeling lit up by the work I used to love.”
  • “There’s a whisper inside asking, what if there’s more?”
  • “I’m craving greater purpose, freedom, or alignment—even if I can’t name it yet.”
Listening to the call takes courage—and curiosity. It activates our nervous systems. But learning to stay grounded and self-regulated as we move forward is more than preparation—it is the path of entrepreneurship. Some of us are just beginning to listen. Others have already leapt—building businesses and lives that reflect our deepest values. To those ahead of us: thank you. Your courage lights the way. And to those already walking this path: May we continue refining how we live and lead—aligned with what matters most. There’s no one right path. But there is a right question: What is this inner call inviting us toward?
