As an Entrepreneur, at times, you’re signing up for suffering. I talk about E.L.F.® Marketing (Easy, Lucrative & Fun!). I talk about having an E.L.F. Business versus a H.A.L.F.™ Business (Hard, Annoying, Lame and Frustrating). And, at the same time, I’ve never seen anyone just fly right into having things be E.L.F.
In the beginning, there is a ramp up, and there IS suffering… My good friend and Founder of Strategic Coach, Dan Sullivan, says there are two types of suffering: Short-term and Long-term. You decide which one you want.
We are all going to endure difficulties and challenges, but we can turn Pain Into Productivity. Some Entrepreneurs know how to transform pain into productivity; Pain into performance; and pain into good things in the world. Other people, if they don’t have clarity about who they are, struggle to do so. That’s why we seek Clarity and Direction. As my friend Clay Hebert says, “You can’t see the label when you’re inside the jar.”
More and more, I’ve been thinking about how to REDIRECT Suffering. Not just reduce it; but REDIRECT it. Because in order to have a breakthrough, you’ve got to break something. And sometimes you just need a perfect storm before the transformation. There is raw material in the Suffering that can create something amazing… IF you can transform it. A Phoenix doesn’t just rise from the ashes; First, something needs to burn.
