Some people’s mindset automatically default to self-sabotage or stupidity when solutions are presented. Both are hard to correct.
What a lot of people need more than anything is tough love. Yet, we’re in a societal paradigm where tough love is currently frowned upon as being insensitive. However, what that’s really doing is giving people an out. People are constantly giving themselves outs.
Real talk: Some people just need to be called out on their sh*t.
Especially if someone is smart enough to know exactly what to do and they still aren’t doing it. As Stephen Covey said, “To learn and not to do is really not to learn; to know and not to do is really not to know.”
People constantly say, “I know that,” or “I understand,” or “I get it,” – and they really don’t. Understanding and knowing something equates to ACTION or, at the very least, acknowledging the real reason they aren’t doing it.
The truth is, some people need a mental enema to truly help themselves. Speed of implementation that produces a result quickly can often shift a person’s brain.
However, some people hit a ceiling when it comes to the level of success they feel they deserve. They never reach it because their thermometer of what is available to them only goes only so high. In some cases, once they shoot past it, they self-sabotage. In fact, some self-proclaimed “experts” surround themselves with leaders in their category, and still don’t follow any of the advice. It’s crazy…but welcome to the self-help world.
