Hello fellow entrepreneurs! So many exciting things planned for 2019, but let’s first cover some of the events as we wind down in 2018.

I attended the National Association of Insurance Commissioners conference in San Francisco this past month. So much is being discussed and developed to allow professional associations to create their own health plans to benefit its members. The ACA has created challenges in some states with as little as one plan being offered on the Exchange. Hopefully, this will change also as AFE investigates options in the health insurance marketplace.

As you read this, we are updating our Business and Lifestyle discounts available to AFE members. A variety of new vendors are joining AFE to provide substantial value to your AFE membership. And, our newly designed website will allow more navigation throughout the site. Once it is launched, it will be much easier to find past newsletters, articles, discounts and educational opportunities.

Some of the new ideas we are discussing include:

• Open Forum for members to pose business questions and solutions;
• A “Shark-Tank” style platform for members to present their business plans and for possible investors to step in and assist financially;
• A library of books and digital audio files for entrepreneurs.
