Don’t base your self-esteem, self-worth, how you feel about yourself, and what you think of others based on how many followers you, or they, have. Don’t base it on how many people pay attention to you, or them. We live in a world where so many people are trying to get others to pay attention to them instead of giving attention. Just trying to get attention because you want to be in a popularity contest is fleeting.
You will be a happier person when you are giving attention to people and things that matter. Base your self-worth and self-esteem on how you impact people, not on how many people you can get to follow you.
We live in a world where people want to be an “Influencer”. My question is: Influencing What? If you are going to influence something, influence YOURSELF first. Influence people who are really important to you. A lot of people will give you their opinion about what you should do with your life, but they may not even really care about you. No one is going to care about you more than those people who are closest to you and love you… and… YOURSELF.
So, be your own best friend. If you are your own best friend, give yourself the opportunity to pay attention to those things worth your time, attention, and energy.
