“What’s In It For Them” is how I think about everything. The truth is, nobody cares how great your product or service is; They care about themselves. They care about What’s In It For Them…
It’s all about focusing on what the other person wants. Not what YOU want, but what THEY want. Of course, it might be nice if the world operated in a way where everything could just work out the way you want without any effort…but it works based on focusing on delivering value and results.
That’s what people care about: RESULTS. In their lives. In their businesses. With their families. And there are many ways to deliver results. But I’ve found that BONDING with people using education-based marketing is one of the most effective ways to do it.
Why? Because in order to get results, people need capabilities … and you deliver capabilities to people through education. So it’s not that people want to sit through lectures or training; It’s the RESULTS those things deliver that people want.
And when you deliver those results, make sure you do it in a way that is ETHICAL. Don’t ever sell anything to anyone you wouldn’t sell to your best friend or that you wouldn’t buy yourself. I’ve always focused on being ethical when I was a dead broke carpet cleaner, and I do that today with my high level connection network, Genius Network. Ethically connect people and deliver valuable results in a way that helps people get better connected and more capable.
