Businesses solve problems for a profit. The good news is there’s ALWAYS problems. Problems are the raw material businesses are built on. Yet, a lot of people in business don’t want any problems… Some people in business have this illusion when starting their own company that it will be wonderful and simple. Realistically, it’s going to be problem after problem.

Think about your HEALTH. If you’re going to effectively work out and build your body, it’s not going to be a cake walk. You have to go through SOME pain. That said, pain that serves no purpose is just pain. And while the saying goes, “No pain no gain”, there IS gain that may not come from pain. The point is to not confuse necessary pain (pain that is useful) with unnecessary pain (pain that serves no purpose). Problems Build Businesses. Use problems to serve others and make yourself stronger.

In business, a few basic moves produce all results. Yet, many people are so busy throwing mud against the wall, they never stop to see which mud has stuck or WHY. People often confuse efficiency with EFFECTIVENESS – and there’s a BIG difference between them. Effectiveness is about producing a useful RESULT. As Peter Drucker said, “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.”

When you’re doing anything in your business, ask yourself: “What Is Actually Moving The Dial?” Out of all the moving parts in your business, look at the most effective and productive moves. Focus on THOSE.
