If you’re starting to travel again in 2021, you might still be a little bit worried about it — if not because of the health consequences, then because of the travel regulations that differ state-to-state. Here are a few tips for staying safe while on the road or in the skies.

No. 1: Hand sanitizer is your best friend.
If you won’t always be able to run to a bathroom when you need to wash your hands. Maybe you’re in line, or you’re stuck in your seat. It’s not a replacement for washing your hands, but hand sanitizer can be a huge help when you need it most. Remember, TSA will now allow you to carry a 12-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer in your carry-on!

No. 2: Prepare your contactless payment options.
Do you “tap to pay” yet? Over the past decade, you’ve likely seen more vendors offer a tap-to-pay feature on their card machines. Even if you don’t have a contactless credit or debit card, you can pay using your smartphone! Just put in your card information into your Wallet or Google Pay app. Then follow the instructions to use Apple Pay or Google Pay. You simply hold it near the card machine for a Face ID or input your passcode to pay.

You’ll never want to fill out your pin number in public again. Plus, contactless payment with Apple Pay or Google Pay makes it easy to pay even if you’ve forgotten or misplaced your wallet!

No. 3: Always have extra masks.
Especially if you’re traveling with other people, make sure you have extra masks. You never know when you’re going to be restricted from traveling to certain places or areas without one. Replace disposable masks often. Also, reusable cloth masks should be cleaned regularly, so make sure to hand wash them when you get a chance.
