If the success of businesses like Starbucks and Panera through the pandemic proves anything, it’s that loyalty programs work. Loyalty programs, in short, make customers feel as though a business is intentionally offering them products and services that they are excited to purchase. Feeling that your business genuinely cares about them keeps them coming back.
If your business doesn’t have a loyalty program or you’re looking to give your existing program a boost, no option is quite as seamless as a holiday or seasonal tie-in. To that end, here are a few ideas for building customer loyalty this November.
The Turkey in the Room
Thanksgiving, and the days that follow, give your business some of the best opportunities to present your customers with seasonally relevant deals. Even though it’s the last week of the month, it’s worth mentioning.
Thanksgiving: Send your customers a card letting them know how thankful you are for their support of your business.
Black Friday: Many businesses choose to opt out of the Black Friday craziness. If you’re planning on partaking, though, it is vital to get a list of good sales and deals out to your customers.
Small Business Saturday: If you’re a local small-business owner, maybe this day will be more your jam. Let your customers know what you have going on that day, even if it’s just some food and drink specials to revive them from the previous day’s craziness.
Cyber Monday: People really do love their sale days around this time of year, don’t they? If your business has an online store, this is the perfect time to offer deals for items your customers buy from you online.
Giving Tuesday: To keep customers interested even after three days of constant deals, for Giving Tuesday, you could let customers know that a portion of their purchase will go toward a local charity. People love knowing they helped their community in some way, and you can make it easy.
Plenty of other days this month provide opportunities to build customer loyalty. Send out reminders to your customers on Forget-Me-Not Day on Nov. 10. Reward your outdoorsy customers with deals before or after they get out on the trails for Take a Hike Day on Nov. 17. Veterans Day is Nov. 11, which makes that a great day to offer special discounts and promotions for those who have served. However you choose to help your customers, the only limit on inspiring customer loyalty is your own creativity!
