We know how easy it is to get stuck in your daily routine, especially if you are a business owner. Entrepreneurs must be aware of many things, so having a schedule may grant you the ability to address whatever you have to do with ease. But you can also lose out on a whole other world of possibilities that appear if you do not follow a routine to the letter.
Keeping track of due dates on your projects, as well as meetings with your employees, is easy to do when you stick to a business routine. But you can change your schedule every now and then – start with small changes and see how it goes.
If you are open to new experiences or even new ways of going about your old routine, creativity tends to follow. Once you let your mind break free of the patterns you used to rely on to get things done, you will feel refreshed.
We have mentioned before that creativity is the fuel that drives a business forward. Many people do the same thing as you do for a living, but the way you do it is what makes you different than everyone else. Clients like finding businesses who think outside of the box, because they know that all the expertise in the world is going to be quite useless if a business can’t apply it in more ways than what they’re used to.
During a Linkedin search, we found Ari Emanuel, co-CEO at William Morris Endeavor, and his wise words are a good piece of advice: “Your schedule makes you dumber. Force yourself outside of your daily schedule. Be curious and take time to learn about worlds outside of the one you live in. Watch the news, read the paper, educate yourself. Don’t be afraid to call people you don’t know, start a conversation, and ask for things you need. At the very least, you’ll be more interesting. At most, you’ll take your business in new and bigger directions.”
So take a bit of time every day – whether it’s thirty minutes or even an hour – to step out of your comfort zone. You will see how you are able to take your business to the next level and find inspiration in unexpected things.
