An accident resulting in a disability that prevents you from working is a serious matter. The loss of income can cause financial stress for you and your family. Zurich American Insurance Company offers an Accident Disability plan designed to assist with ongoing living expenses if you become disabled as a direct result of an accident. This plan provides a cash benefit and guarantees acceptance without the need for a medical exam. It includes Weekly Indemnity Benefits for Total Disability, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and Covered Loss of Use benefits.
This plan can help supplement your financial responsibilities with monthly cash benefits until you can return to work. After an elimination period (14 or 30 days, depending on your chosen plan), the plan can provide benefits for up to 52 weeks. It offers benefits equal to 60 percent of a disabled member’s regular income, up to the selected total benefit amount. These benefits can be used for:
- Mortgage or rent
- Personal assistance
- Vehicle payments
- Medical bills
- Utility bills
- Credit cards
Accidents occur every second of the day, and a disabling accident that prevents you from working can be catastrophic. Let us assist you in getting the financial support you need while you recover. When an accident results in a disability, the impact can be physical, emotional, and financial. With Accident Disability Insurance, you have coverage specifically designed to help with ongoing living expenses if you become disabled as a direct result of an accident. It provides a tax-free cash benefit and requires no medical exam or questions.
Monthly benefits for those unable to work
Accidents happen, and those leading to disability can significantly affect your quality of life and that of your loved ones. Accident Disability Insurance can help supplement your income and provide ongoing payments for eligible claims during your recovery. If you become disabled as a direct result of an accident, our policy will pay you a tax-free cash benefit, which can be received monthly after a 14- or 30-day elimination period, for up to 52 weeks. This support can alleviate the burden of keeping up with home, car, and other payments during your recovery.
Receive financial support as you focus on recovery
Recovery is often more important than returning to work too early. Rehabilitation can add to your expenses, making this coverage even more valuable.
Choose the benefit that suits you
Select the coverage that suits your needs. We offer policy options that allow you to choose cash benefits ranging from $250 to $1,000 per week, with premiums starting at less than $30 per month. Keep in mind that no medical exam or evidence of good health is required for eligibility. However, a pre-existing condition exclusion does apply. You can obtain this insurance without the need for extensive medical examinations.
Under a Group Accident Disability Income plan, if a covered person is injured in an accident and unable to work, the policy will provide a portion of their salary as disability income, up to the maximum benefit purchased. It’s important to note that a Group Accident Disability Income plan is not a replacement for health insurance, as it only covers injuries resulting from accidents, not illnesses or other health issues.
