Regardless of where you reside in the United States, sickness seems almost unavoidable during the winter season. But when you’re an entrepreneur, even a minor distraction from your work can be devastating. To avoid missing any work days during one of the busiest times of the year, here are a couple of unique tricks.

Vacuum Twice A Week

If you have animals that use a pet door, they are likely bringing dirt into you house, which can flare up allergies. Vacuuming your home twice a week reduces the number of airborne pollutants like pollen and dust mites. Using a vacuum with a filter that meets the high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) standards will also reduce the risk of those pollutants being blown back into the air.

Consider Your Holiday Diet

Holiday treats are a staple of many holiday traditions, but they can affect your energy and blood sugar levels. Fill up on nutrient-rich foods like vegetables and whole grains before breaking out the snacks. Substitute white flour for whole grains in your holiday recipes because too much white powder can cause weight gain and cause your immune system to plummet. Instead of going for the eggnog or mulled wine this season, opt for an herbal tea. Herbal teas, like mint or green, can provide you with antioxidants.

Working out consistently also helps improve our moods and reduce our anxiety. If you’re an AFEUSA member, remember to utilize your exclusive Burnalong discount to help maintain your health throughout the winter months.
